HISTORY OF THE ADVANCED DEVELOPMENT CENTER

Founded in 1996 as a division of Synon (now part of CA), ADC Austin is in the business of designing, building, and modernizing custom enterprise applications on midrange servers. The company’s modernization expertise is centered on IBM i applications developed with RPG and COBOL; in particular those applications developed with CA’s 2E and Plex architected rapid application development (ARAD) tools. ADC Austin’s successful Model-Based Modernization Methodology (M3) approach to modernization consists of proprietary automated modernization software, best-of-breed tools from industry leaders, and a world-class services organization with deep architect-level expertise in the CA, IBM, and Microsoft toolsets. ADC provides its modernization software and services world-wide, through a network of partners covering every major geography.

In addition to legacy modernization, ADC Austin provides software consulting services, classroom training, and staff augmentation to the IBM System i and CA ecosystem. ADC Austin is the primary North American partner and reseller for CA’s model based development tooling, including CA 2E, CA Plex, and CA Repository. ADC is also an MKS certified reseller and services partner, and provides an Application Lifecycle Management practice for the IBM i customer. Management Team

PETER VIGLIANO
Peter Vigliano has over 20 years of experience in the IT sector most recently as the CEO of ADC Austin.  In particular, Peter brings extensive experience in business development and contract management.  He is also the founder and owner of EIMS Direct an HP enterprise hardware reseller.  Peter’s company was recognized by Inc. 500 magazine as one of America’s fastest growing privately held companies in 2001.  Peter received his degree in business management from the University of Texas in Arlington and lives in Austin, Texas with his wife, Robin, and 2 grown children.

JUAN GONZALEZ
COO and IBERO-America Sales Manager of ADC Austin, Juan is a key individual on both operations and sales. Juan holds a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Monterrey Institute of Technology, and an MBA at the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. Additionally, he has graduate studies in Strategic Planning at Harvard University, and has completed the Entrepreneurial Program sponsored at St. Edwards University in Austin.

Prior to his MBA studies, he worked at CEMEX, the second largest cement manufacturer in the world. At CEMEX, Juan managed the implementation of IT tools to align all operational activities with CEMEX’s global strategies. In 1997, he joined Pulsar International Ventures in Silicon Valley where he had a senior role managing a large investment fund. Juan has proven experience in the management of internationally focused organizations.

JOHN RHODES
As Principal Architect and co-founder of ADC Austin, John Rhodes helps the ADC Austin’s customers turn business requirements into concrete technology, plans, and approaches. Towards this end, he leverages his broad experience in both web-based and traditional software development. Rhodes has a particular interest in the exploitation of reusable software components and patterns to help bring software to market faster and cheaper.

Prior to joining ADC Austin, John spent 5 years as a principle architect and consulting manager for Sterling Software (now part of Computer Associates). He was responsible for the design and implementation of enterprise-scale software projects across a variety of industries. Before Sterling Software, Rhodes was a project manager and lead developer for Kraft Foods and Philip Morris of New York.

John holds Microsoft’s MCSE and MCSD certifications, and is a member of the ACM, IEEE, and PMI. He holds a Masters Degree in Information Management from Polytechnic University of New York, and a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M.
